Evil is the New Good

Hey peoples... SORRY but i had a meeting downtown this morning where Marco and I dazzled a bunch of service providers and got them excited about organizing and advocacy...

Otherwise i would have had extensive postings already. I found it was a fun creepy episode, altho I wanted to see Sayid and Juliette get *into* it a lil more. And I really can't wait to see what Jack's ill shit is. What he's up to.

On a side note, did the cops or any authorities KNOW about Sawyer killing that dude before getting on the plane (i just don't remember from the backstory)? If not, the Others must have REALLY good off-island investigative capabilities...

Juancy also brought up the possibility that the Island might impose strict guidelines on what the Others can and can't do (can't just raid the camp and slaughter everybody), and the smoke monster is ONE OF the ways that behavior is punished, so Ben has to be manipulative and get "good people" to do the bad things. Michael, Juliette, etc.

As a semi-non-sequiter, is it possible to imagine someone who ISN'T a good person? I mean, even the most evil destructive motherfucker imaginable must be okay with his/her conscience, like George Bush must think that the good things he attains by his evil actions must outweigh their negative consequences, or, as in the case of psychopaths, they must feel like they're acting in ways they can't control... To quote the talented Mr. Ripley:
