Sarah, I Hope You're Happy!

Well, Sarah, I guess the Lost gods heard your cry for more Sawyer, cuz we just got an entire episode basically devoted to him! What'd you think? I liked the episode overall, although I'm not sure where they're going with the whole Sawyer-Juliet-Kate triangle. I'm just hoping it doesn't take up TOO much time because it seems like just a distraction.

Speaking of gods, though, I DID find the statue sighting interesting. Word on the street is that it's likely of Egyptian god Anubis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anubis). Notice how he's holding an Ankh (which is a symbol for eternal life) in one picture. The Lost statute appears to be holding two Ankhs. And, of course, Horace (another Egyptian god's name) spots Amy with the Ankh she took from her previous husband. So where are they going with all this? Are they saying the island is where the ancient Egyptians once lived, or where they learned about building a civilization?

There's also been some chatter about Amy's baby. If the Losties hadn't come upon her, would she have died? They aren't supposed to be able to change anything, so does that mean she wouldn't have died, or does it mean that Farraday was wrong about that? If he's wrong and they did manage to change the past, then Amy's baby should never have been born... Hmm. Maybe that's why babies conceived on the island always die? The island is pissed that a baby was born that shouldn't have been?

I am soooooo sooooo happy!!! It's like the LOST gods heard my cry, and they answered! How exciting.
This episode confused me to all holy hell.... and while it was interesting, I didn't love it. It was almost *too* confusing. Right now, I'm very tired so my analysis is even more lacking than usual. But to get back to the more important part... YES, Sarah is *VERY* happy!

Hiya,

thought to mention my thoughts on the sawyer-full episode before this evening's magical mystery tour.

Walead, it was really interesting to see the statue and i totally thought along with sam that it looked egyptian (i'm wondering how anybody saw that it was an anubis statue... was there a shot of its head?), in the lostpedia there is just conjecture - something about the hieroglyph appears during the countdown as well as the eye of horus, etc.

Also, i dunno where they got that the ankh is a symbol for anubis (god of the underworld) although most egyptian gods hold this symbol, it's used to imply life and fertility (handle = womb, the t-shape = phallus). That made me raise an eye-brow about the birth of the kid without death of his mom (who is he going to grow up to be???).

Thirdly, i'm a little scandalized at how sawyer basically immediately 'betrayed' juliette (that ain't right) when kate came back into play 3years later - without much hesitation! Damn! that's messed up... i must say that even though i'm into seeing how this will play out, that doing such a clumsy little heartstrings tug was a bit cheap...

anywho, i just want to end by asking ~worriedly~ where is my Rose and Bernard!?!?!

What do you mean betrayed? I'm confused. Last I saw, all he did was see that she came back. You mean not tell J that the crew was back?

Also, I hate to tell you but it's not on today :(
