Desmond Tutu, you ain't...

Oh crap, I can't stand how good this show is!! It leaves me sitting at the dining room table--all tense, hunched, and wide-eyed! This show will be the death of me. Don't you understand that I can't take the pressure of it all?! That being said, Lost has neatly positioned itself as one of the best shows on television (or at the very least the one with the most posturely-challenged fans).

Lost has started to be about how far one would go given desperate circumstances, and I love it. I must have said "Desmond, really? C'mon Desmond, really?!?" a million times. Without knowing if it will really make a difference, can you really sacrifice someone else's life? Mmmmmmmmm, maybe. Yeah, I didn't comment about Juliette last week, but you do what you gotta do when stuck on a not so deserted island with its own monster for three years. Juliette doesn't know those people. Ok, maybe you don't shoot people Michael style, but you certainly betray them to get home. Get your plane ticket on, girl. Work your guilt out later.

Oh yeah, the other thing Lost seems to be all about is giving us tidbits when there are meals to be had. There is a four-toed statue to be explained and all we get is why Desmond says "brother" all the time. I just thought it was a Scottish thing.

Did anyone catch the photo Desmond's silver haired medium sitting on the monk's desk? Do you think that she/they set Desmond up? I mean, honestly, one moment he's perfectly coherent (or, you know, close) and then he is lying in the street speaking to a monk. He stays at the monastery for months only to get fired and leave the very day Penny, rich ass Penny (Hey, did she say "My name is Canelope."?), comes there on a beer run? You make 108 (interesting number) cases of wine and you don't have a deal worked out with the local post office? Do the ridiculously rich customarily go on trips to lug boxes of wine from the local monastery? I think Cruella had a plan for Desmond, and I think it was to save the world.

I take notice of the fact that Saffie, the oh-so-absent-from-blogging, has come back with a vengeance... note she has posted this exactly at 11pm on Wednesday, meaning she must have been writing 'tween commercials!

That said, Sam noticed the ring-seller/white Oracle lady next to the monk, oh-so-badly photoshopped in. I don't know if they set him up, since Desmond has those pre-cognitive flashes... though they can be explained thru medical experimentation, and we know that this is one of the functions of one of our lovely hatches: the study of paranormal behavior.

The last thing to add is that Ardil-22 is Catch-22 in portuguese (that girl looked brazilian if i've ever seen a brazilian girl)... anywho, it takes us back to the searchers hired by penelope at the end of the 2nd season in antartica, speaking brazilian portuguese... hmmm. what next, LOST?

I have nothing to add. It was a really good episode and I have no clue what's going on. I guess we can only assume that the girl from the helicopter -- Naomi is her name -- was sent by Penny once her fellow Portuguese workers found the island. But how did the helicopter know how to enter the island? And why did it crash?

Incidentally, the "you want me to make you a mix tape?" remark was quite funny. I am warming up to Sawyer a bit.

Alright, I'm under tight deadlines at work, so I can't comment how I really want to. All I got say is that I did notice that the "oracle" was chilling with the monk in the picture and I also loved the mix tape comment!

W-how do you know that Naomi is this chick's name? Are you a lost writer? Tell the truth!

Also, that chick does look a bit Brazilian, good call. She was definitely sent by Penny, which is why she had the pic. Do you think that the purple sky event has changed the atmosphere around the island? Hence helicopters crash?

Also, do you think the others know about Desmond? They know the losties cuz they dig up info from the manifest but Desmond came by other means. Your thoughts?
