Why is it that Jin is the only mofo that doesn't speak English, yet he is the only one who seems to always know what's going down. What's that Jin? What's that you're trying to say? The others are coming? No, no it couldn't be that. I can't quite understand you. Uhp, too late we've already been caught. I'm sorry, what was that Jin? That one-eyed Russian mofo took the phone and you're desperately trying to get it back? No, no it's best if we chase you yelling hollow reassurances. Why are people teaching Jin English if no one wants to listen to him? Hmm?
Now for the show...They can't be dead! If they were, how did Rosario Dawson get there? Do they want us to believe that the Others are the only ones alive? Or that the Losties are straddling dimensions? Or that they're all chilling up on zombie island? That wasn't tranquilizer in that orange juice, girl! Oh please, this isn't FOX! If they were all dead, then what's at stake? This shit is a writer trick I tell you! Pish posh, I say!
Are we all loving Sun's quiet, demure, kick your assedness, because I am. Sun said it may be okay with everyone else that you're washing your clothes...but I'll cut a bitch! Okay, maybe that's not a direct quote. But damn, it's getting so a chick can't launder her delicates without getting harrassed. I love that Kate is not the only tough chick on the block. (No one really believed spoiled, screechy Claire was going to be the next tough chick did they? Oh Sam, look what your hateration has taught me.) For quite some time, the only tough women on the show were Kate and the Others.
Raised eyebrow award to Desmond for pointing out that the Losties have killed more Others than vice versa.
Okay, I'm going to need help with a couple of things. First and foremost, why is foaming at the mouth, bleeding from the ears Mikhail not dead? Does that mean Ms. Klugh is not dead either? Tina seems to think that putting blood packets in one's ears and an exploding foam pack in one's mouth is preparedness on Mikhail's part, but a squib and a blood pack is just this side of ludicrous when Ms. Klugh does it. Guess it's not just the island that has some
thing against black people. Okay, back to the questions. Why did Sun not follow Juliette back into the hatch? Why didn't Sun push Jin's hooker mom into the bay? And most important, where the hell is Rose?!

Two quick things:
(1) Obviously Mikhail was lying when he translated Naomi's Portuguese as "I'm dying." She actually said: "I'm not alone."
(2) I don't think anything weird is happening with the "you're all dead" thing -- no zombie island or purgatory or anything like that. I think the plane crashed as we observed it and that whoever is funding the Others -- Hanso, or whomever -- wanted to keep the island a secret, and because the lost plane was so high-profile, they staged a cover up so that they could tell people the plane was found in the ocean and everyone had drowned.
I'm with ya, W. There are so not dead. The other's are behind it!
Here's a question: Was patchy running to them because he saw the flare? If so, what did he think it meant?
Actually, Kate is coming off as something of a softie these days!! Might it be impending motherhood? I thought her self-esteem was better than needing to run to Sawyer's bed just because her feelings were a lil hurt because snitchy Jack was chilling all villain-like with Juliet. And yes, Tina, i understand that some people might find Sawyer hot, and therefore sex with him would not just be about hurt feelings, but if that's the case than why did she turn down his eloquent offer of afternoon delight?
Most importantly... Why would she stop Sun and Juliet from fighting? I guarantee it would have been the most entertaining thing to happen to the Losties since the last collective burial.
Cuz a girl has to have a man (no matter how hot) on her own terms. You can't just be doing it whenever they ask (esp if he is a smug mofo), then they take the shit for granted. You gotta use her sexual power and get yourself a mix tape.
Juancy refuses to acknowledge the power of the mix tape. I gave him like four when we were first dating and he was *SO* underwhelmed. And then in GRINDHOUSE and in last week's LOST a mix tape is presented as the most profound expression of love, and J wasn't buying it.
The mix tape is so precious, now a mix CD or a personalized playlist. Juancy is just a hater and enjoys being underwhelmed.
I always knew when a guy was digging me when he busted out the mix tape. It's a confession, without having to actually say it.
It's a thing to be analyzed with your friends.
Certain songs means the person looooovvvvvves you, certain songs are just like, and 2live Crew is not a good sign.
Walead and i went through a period in college where every mix tape we made (and we made a lot of mix tapes for people, generally not lovers, just people we wanted to impress) had "Baby Got Back." And "Be My Baby," by the Ronettes. And four or five Pixies songs.
W, what other songs were our standards?
I'm going to suggest that you keep Sir Mix-Alot, out of mix tapes, if you intend to have sex with the person at some point. Sam, did Juancy's mix tapes have "Baby got back"? If so I take back the Juancy's a hater comment. Not because he's not a hater (cuz you are, baby, but I love you) but because he is justified in this instance.
Hey Tina... how about... mind yr business? Mmkay?
I just have to say...
Sam Joshua makes the BEST mixed tapes ever!!!
Hey, peoples. I've been in court all morning and come back to 13 new messages -- but it's from y'all, so life is good.
This was my first court appearance where I was the lead attorney and I actually won! My client was seeking a restraining order against her abusive husband and we got the judge to grant it for us. It wasn't that difficult to get, considering the shit this guy was doing (and I use the word "shit" deliberately), but it was a fun experience and now I'm 1-0 in court rooms!
To echo Sarah's comment, Sam does make exceptional mixed cds, and of COURSE mixed cds are a sign of love (Juancy!). Do you know how long it takes to make a good mixed cd? How much care you have to invest? To make sure you get the right message across? To make sure the songs flow, that the volume doesn't fluctuate too much between songs? It's a whole process.
Sam, back in our mixed tape days, the key was to have a few 30 second or 1 minute clips that you could use at the end of each side so there wasn't a ton of empty space. The Pixies' "In Heaven" was a good 1-minute song that also had a good ending. We also weren't above using clips from movies. On one occasion, I included the speech from the end of Dirty Dancing (the sad one the owner of the resort gives at the end from the stage when everyone is leaving -- right before Johnny returns to interrupt).
Oh, Dirty Dancing soundtrack. Your usefulness for mixed tapes and cds is never-ending. God bless you.
Congrats, Walead! That's awesome!
Did you ever put in "Nobody puts baby in the corner"?
No, but Juancy should expect that on the next mixed cd I make for him.
Other mixed cd classics include Biz Markie's "Just a Friend," for when you like someone, but want to send them mixed messages, and Warren G's "Regulate" ("They got guns to my head, I think I'm going down, I can't believe this is happenin in my own town. If I had wings I would fly, let me contemplate, I glanced in the cut and I see my homey Nate"), for when you want to send the message to someone that you're a sucka mc.
oh please, oh please, someone make me a mixed cd.
Can I tell you that I know someone that sent back a mixed tape in response that had En Vogue's "Never gonna get it"! What kinda f-ed up shit is that?
This is not my original idea, but I read somewhere that if Naomi thinks no one survived the plane crash then that suggests that Michael and Walt never made it back to civilization. It's not a definite, though, because they could still have been in transit by the time Naomi left civilization, or maybe Michael and Walt returned, realized some shadiness about the crash was going on, and decided to just lay low and not come out to the public.
