Kate Freakified

Two things bothered me about Kate's appearance at the end.

(1) Why did they need to meet in secret in darkness out behind the airport?

(2) Why did she look oddly different? No freckles, weird makeup, possibility of cosmetic surgery?

So... what if she is still on the run?
