Okay, this has been the debate of the morning and part of last night. I wonder, could the casket dweller be Michael? I can't imagine why Walt wouldn't be at his funeral, but he has been busy delivering cryptic messages to the seemingly mortally wounded...or the about to be mortally wounded (Poor Shannon).
Also, Michael was always struggling with money which would account for the seedy neighborhood. He also may have no other family, because no one came to see him in the hospital when he got hit by a car. The only one that showed up was his ex who came to pay the bill.
Most importantly, he is neither friend nor family...you know, since his traitorous killing spree. Whatcha think?

I'm thinking John Locke is also a good bet. He has no family and I'm sure the Losties aren' fans of him since he tried to stop them from leaving the island. He would also not be friend or family. And don't forget when Jack asked Kate why she didn't go to the funeral, she said "Why would I?"
The first thing Juancy said was "what if Ben was in the coffin" and I was all "that's madness!" but Walead's thoughts on that possibility are pretty intriguing. Lost has a habit of taking the most unlikely outcome and slowly making it plausible, so I could totally see Jack coming to sympathize with Ben or at least realize that he was correct in his fears even if he was a sick evil motherfucker...
